Guided Tours In Shiloh

Imagine standing where the holy tabernacle was originally established. Shiloh, nestled in the hills of Ephraim, is where God first made His Name abide for well over three centuries. It is rich in biblical history and the location of one of Israel’s greatest prophets, Samuel. It was at Shiloh where Hannah prayed for a son. It was at Shiloh where the boy, Samuel, heard the voice of God. It was at Shiloh that the high priest, Eli, fell and died at the news of defeat and capture of the Ark of the Covenant by the Philistines. It was Shiloh, in the Book of Jeremiah, that God warns as an example of divine judgment upon the holy city of Jerusalem.

Today, Tel Shiloh is a treasure trove where archaeological excavations progress each year. There is always something new to see. Tel Shiloh also boasts one of the best souvenir shops in the Shomron, full of locally made crafts and wines and so remains a favourite on Tanakh Tours.

The whole congregation of Israel assembled together at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there.
